A Big Adventure Will Soon Be Jumping Ship to PC

Evidence continues to pile up that yet another PlayStation exclusive game is going to jump ship to PC at some point in the near future.

PlayStation exclusive game Sackboy: A Big Adventure appears to be jumping ship to PC in the near future. Sackboy: A Big Adventure first launched for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in November 2020 as a PS5 launch title. It didn’t earn quite the same level of critical acclaim as the main games in the LittleBigPlanet series, but it was still praised as a fun co-op platformer. Now it seems more gamers will be able to check it out, as evidence has continued piling up that Sackboy: A Big Adventure is coming to PC.

Gamers first got wind of a potential Sackboy PC port last year when it was leaked by SteamDB. Then this past summer, more evidence of a Sackboy PC port leaked online. The latest update throws more fuel on the fire, as SteamDB has updated the Sackboy icon and added achievements. Needless to say, this is fairly concrete evidence that the once-PlayStation exclusive is coming to PC, and it seems to suggest that the port could be released in the relatively near future.

PlayStation has made a concerted effort to bring its exclusive games to PC in recent years, though not before PlayStation consoles have had them for quite some time. The most recent PlayStation exclusive to come to PC was Spider-Man Remastered from Insomniac Games, and the next PC port is Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, which is set to drop for PC on October 19.

There’s no solid release date for the Sackboy PC port, but since Uncharted is coming in October, one would think that Sackboy would come at some point after that. Perhaps Sony will release the Sackboy PC port before the year is out, or maybe PC gamers will have to wait until next year to play the game. The potential PC port has not even been announced at the time of this writing, and so platformer fans on PC should keep that in mind before getting too excited.

With Sony bringing its big exclusives to PC, there’s little reason to doubt that Sackboy won’t be making the transition eventually, it’s just a matter of when. This coming November would mark two years since Sackboy: A Big Adventure originally launched, and so it seems like it would be a prime opportunity to drop the PC port, but fans shouldn’t hold their breath. For now, anyone interested in the game will have to check it out on PS4 or PS5.
