A reader recommends his favourite walkthrough and longplay channels on YouTube, including theRadBrad and TheProfessional.
Gameplay walkthroughs have always been a favourite of mine, since they allow me to see a game that I haven’t played or no longer own. They can be a valuable resource for gamers to see exactly what a game offers and if a story is good, as well as allow a person to relax and sit back while watching.
Retro game walkthroughs are a great way for people to see how good a retro game was at its time of release and experience what they may have missed.
Walkthroughs are also a great way to allow people to pass time and enjoy a game that they cannot yet buy. There are many walkthrough channels out there, however my favourites are listed below.
TheProfessional is one of my favourites, as he has done excellent gameplay walkthroughs of many games, particularly GTA: Vice City, Scarface, and Saints Row, which he often plays while also doing charity streams, raising money for worthy causes. His kindness towards worthy causes, and his gameplay streams, is why he has made my top five list. He also responds to comments and does his best to ensure no one is ignored.
Claiming to be ‘King of the YouTube Walkthrough’, theRadBrad consistently covers new games the exact moment they are released or sometimes gets to play them a bit early. His gameplay walkthroughs are always of the highest quality and he does regular uploads, meaning that each day new content is on the channel of the newest games. His excellent coverage of Resident Evil Village is one example of why you should check out his channel, along with countless other games.
Retro gamers will absolutely love this channel’s walkthroughs. It has a very extensive collection of retro game walkthroughs, including games on the Mega Drive and Super Nintendo and other previous generation systems. The walkthroughs are complete, meaning that any parts you wish to see can easily be watched on the time stamp and provide an excellent walkthrough of the games. The wide coverage is one reason why this channel remains one of my favourites to this day.
This channel has great walkthroughs of many point ‘n’ click games, including The Secret Of Monkey Island and many others, and is one of the few channels dedicated to the genre, that fans should definitely check out. There are a lot of great gameplay walkthroughs on this channel, including other LucasArts games like Loom and Day Of The Tentacle, as well as games from other developers such as Simon The Sorcerer and Beneath A Steel Sky.
This channel has a wide range of walkthroughs of some great games, going from the PS1 era with the original Resident Evil all the way up to the recent Sniper Elite 5. There are also a lot of Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 era games, with a neat playlist section to help you look through all the content. The presentation of the videos is also very good and is sure to see the channel’s success grow over time.
Gameplay walkthroughs will always be a favourite pastime of mine, they are an excellent way of demonstrating to others how incredible and amazing games are without the other person having to play them.
